The Lensmaker's Equation describes the relationship between the focal length ( f ) of a lens, the index of refraction of the lens ( n_g ), the index of refraction of the medium surrounding the lens ( n ), the radius of curvature of the front face of the lens( R₁ ), and the radius of curvature of the rear face of the lens ( R₂ ).
